Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2007
We have extensive CDM 2007 experience and frequently act as Principal Contractor or Sub Contractor on "Notifiable" projects within the regulations. We believe a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the participants on notifiable projects plus a comprehensive and specific "Construction Phase - Health & Safety Site Plan" on ALL our major works projects is key to our construction success.
Construction Phase - Health & Safety Site Plans
We always ensure the Health & Safety Site Plan is approved before site works start. That it includes the project safety statement and arrangements / management & monitoring / risk management / emergency arrangements / site set-up & welfare / site specific risks / general H&S items & well-being / asbestos report, RAMS, COSHH, SWAMP etc.
Our Role as Principal Contractor on a "Notifiable" Project:
- Prepare and implement the H&S site plan - initially before construction begins
- Make Sub Contractors aware of the plan & design and other changes
- Ensure suitable welfare facilities are provided and maintained
- All workers are competent, site inducted and aware of the site plan & designs
- Liaise with the CDM co-ordinator regarding ongoing design & safety issues
- Site security and display of safety notices and F10 Form
Our Role as Sub Contractor on a "Notifiable" Project:
- Ensure the client has appointed a CDM Co-ordinator and notified the HSE
- Co-operate with Principal Contractor in planning and managing the works
- Advise the Principal Contractor of any contractors we engage on the works
- Provide any information needed for the Health & Safety file
- Make the Principal Contractor aware of status and problems with the site plan
- Record promptly reportable accidents, diseases and dangerous occurrences
